The new iT Range of Inductive level & Interface measurement
Concentrate Recovery Level Measurement
Continuous level and interface measurement made easier with a high quality compact design
The new technology of iT range Non-Contact Inductive level & interface transmitters have been designed for industrial applications, where the specific interface between two mediums of different density need to be continually monitored.
Conventional level measurement devices have difficulty measuring in applications such as concentrator flotation interface level measurement and agitated sump tanks with surface foam build-up.
The iT range Transmitter is designed to measure the interface accurately and consistently.
Benefits of Design Characteristics:
- Non-Contact Inductive Transmitter
- Hi Speed Process Measurement (Samples at 1kHz)
- Multiple Output Options
- Certified Pre-Calibrated Ranges
- Measurement accuracy of 0.5mm
- Pre-Assembled Compact Design
- Simple Installation & Maintenance
Description of Operation
The iT Range makes use of (Stainless not for concentrators) LDPE sealed cast float with high chemical resistance, suitable to most process applications. The characteristics of the floats are designed and weighted in such a manner the ball floats on the surface of the dense medium below the lighter medium (foam), hence continually measuring the interface and real level.
The float is attached to a travel rod and magnet. As the float travels with the changing level the inductive transmitter will instantaneously measure the change of movement and transmit the proportional signal back to the control system via the selected communication type.
Communication options conform to modern device type network systems. It includes Analogue, Profibus, Devicenet, CANbus, SSI, and several Ethernet based protocols.
The instrument is always accurate to less than 0.5mm. Consistent free travel of the travel rod is obtained by using precision machined travel guides which provide low friction and wear to the moving travel rod component.
Where water flushing is required on the travel shaft, a water flushing nozzle is fitted. This ensures continuous cleaning of the travel guide movement. This may be required for applications where there is medium build-up, or sticky materials.
Standard ranges are pre-constructed and pre-calibrated for ease of application, installation & commissioning.
Installation
Density Interface Measurement
A simple set-up procedure with the pre-calibrated range allows for hassle free installation and commissioning. Once the main support frame is mounted, the instrument within its pre-constructed frame is lowered to a point such that the float ball comes into contact with the medium, typically at the over flow point.
This point of measurement is where the interface of the 2 mediums is zero, the frame is fastened and the float distance of travel below the over flow point will be the process operating range.
Conventional Overflow Measurement
The same principal applies to set the float to the maximum or over flow point. This point of measurement will be the 100% or over flow point. The float travel distance bellow the overflow point, will provide the operating range down to 0%.
The set-up of the required output is reversible to suit both inverse and direct level measurement applications.
