Rotating Cross Cutter Firmware CT803:
in combination with Motion Controller MC800

Rotating Cross Cutter Firmware CT803

Rotating Cross Cutter CT803

Short description on CT803:

The CT803 Firmware together with the MC800 hardware is used on machine applications such as rotary cross-cutters or other rotary applications. The CT803 firmware, together with the MC800 hardware, scores with its short position control cycles, high dynamics and precise cuts.

The Motrona MC800 multi-axis motion controller, a successor to the proven MC700, has an even higher bandwidth and with a more flexible bus architecture. The universal encoder inputs allow the connection of various encoders and other sensor systems. The integrated tandem drive controller is a special feature of this system, which enables the acceleration demand of following axis to be achieved by distributing power on two independent drives.

  • 2 pulse inputs with format A, /A, B, /B, Z, /Z [HTL, RS422] with an input frequency up to 2 MHz
  • 2 control inputs with format SIN+, SIN-, COS+, COS- [1 Vss] with an input frequency up to 400 kHz
  • 2 SSI inputs with format DATA+, DATA-, CLOCK+, CLOCK- up to 25 Bit, with SSI switching frequency of 100 Hz ... 1 MHz
  • 2 scalable 14 bit analog inputs for ±10 V or 0/4 ... 20 mA
  • 4 control inputs for PNP / NPN signals [10 ... 30 VDC]
  • 4 fast interrupt inputs for PNP / NPN signals [10 ... 30 VDC]
  • 1 pulse output with format A, /A, B, /B, Z, /Z [RS422]
  • 4 control outputs with push-pull characteristic, short-circuit-proof [5 ... 30 VDC]
  • 2 scalable 14 bit analog outputs for ±10 V or 0/4 ... 20 mA
  • Loop time approx. 250 µs
  • Power supply 18 ... 35 VDC
  • Snap-on housing for top hat rail (according to EN 60715)
  • OnBoard interfaces: Ethernet / IP, RS232 / RS485, USB 2.0, CANopen, Modbus RTU
  • Optional Ethernet interfaces: EtherCAT, Ethernet / IP, Modbus TCP, Powerlink, PROFINET, SERCOS III
  • Optional Fieldbus interfaces (slave): CC-Link, DeviceNet, PROFIBUS
  • Operates with all 4-Q-drive systems, equipped with a standardized drive communication bus (e. g. SERCOS-II). Alternatively ±10 V setpoint can be used
  • The controllers can be setup by an external operator terminal as well as HMI’s via standardized factory communication bus e. g. PROFINET
  • Setup via windows operator software (free of charge)

Rotating Cross Cutter Firmware CT703:
in combination with Motion Controller MC800

Rotating Cross Cutter Firmware CT703

Rotating Cross Cutter CT703

Short description on CT703:

The CT703 Rotating Cross Cutter firmware is suitable for controlling rotary cross cutters as well as rotating pressure, punching or sealing rolls. The CT703 Rotating Cross Cutter firmware is specially designed to meet the requirements of rotary applications, considering maximum cutting performance and accuracy, while ensuring the highest level of protection for the machine at the same time. A short loop time and intelligent calculation algorithms ensure maximum precision and dynamics. The Motion Controller MC700 is easy to parameterize. The input is done with a PC or laptop and the current motrona operating software.

  • With use of the CT703 firmware (see Support) this unit provides excellent solutions with all kinds of rotating cut-to-length systems as well as with applications like rotary labeling, printing, punching, sealing etc.
  • The range of functions includes extended possibilities with evaluation and blanking of print marks, floating print mark registers and more.
  • Specification of operating variables (eg cutting length) via external operator terminal, RS232 / RS485 interface or optional via CANBUS (MC700/CI)
  • PROFIBUS connection via the PB251 gateway (see accessories)
  • MC700 is a universal motion controller for 1 to 4 axis, programmable for multiple motion applications by simple download of the corresponding function firmware.

Controller for Rotary Cutters CT340:

Rotating Cross Cutter CT340

Rotating Cross Cutter CT340

Short description on CT340:

The Motrona CT340 Rotating Cutter Controller is used in applications to control rotary cross-cutters as well as rotating pressure, punching or sealing rolls. They are used t cut or process endless materials, if they can’t be stopped during the process. This control is particularly impressive because of its extremely short loop time, which ensures maximum dynamics and allows high-precision cuts even during speed changes. Intelligent calculation algorithms, a maximum cutting performance as well as highest precision while at the same time protecting the mechanical components are the main advantages of this controller. The CT340 Rotating Cutter Controller has a 14-bit analog output (V / mA), 4 programmable limit values / transistor outputs and a serial RS232 interface. The cutting length is entered via the keyboard on the CT340 Rotating Cutter Controller.

  • 2 pulse inputs with format A, B, 90° [HTL] or A, /A, B, /B [RS422]
  • 4 control inputs for HTL / PNP / NPN / Namur signals [10 ... 30 VDC]
  • Input frequency up to 300 kHz
  • 4 fast transistor outputs, push-pull, short-circuit-proof [5 … 30 VDC]
  • 1 scalable 14 bit analog output (±10 V or 0/4 … 20 mA)
  • Loop time approx. 250 µs
  • Cutting length specification via keyboard
  • Power supply 24 VAC and 17 … 40 VDC
  • Compact norm panel housing (according to EN 60715)
  • Top hat rail mounting by using SM300 support brackets (option)
  • Setup via keys or via PC by serial RS232 interface
  • PROFIBUS conncetion via motrona gateway PB251
